Wednesday morning client ride and afternoon train to the beach.

Catching up Friday morning on Wednesday.  I had a very nice client ride with Dave Raymond from Canada starting at 9 at the shop.  He had a return deadline, which was flexible, at 11:30, so we got the bike rented and set up and went off to the north.  We rode out through San Domenico from Le Cure, then down through Maiano to the Vincigliata climb.  We had ridden Chianti the first day out together and I wanted to do something different.  From Vincigliata, up to the road to Olmo, then up and over to Bivigliano for some much needed water.

We descended / climbed / descended through Viliano and Casellina to the road to Pratolino.  Down from there on Via Bolognese, then back to the shop.  Great client and a strong rider.  Thanks, Dave.

I was home, showered, packed, and off to the bus in an hour, then Emily and I were waiting for a late train, 30 minute in ritardo, and ended up taking a different train to Forte dei Marmi.  We were there at a good time anyway.  Kate and the kids picked us up and we were off to their place for July.  It is a very nice apartment with 2 bedrooms that works for us to stay overnight.  Emily is doing babysitting Tuesdays and Thursdays for the month, so it needs to work to stay.  If I do not have clients, I will be doing 3 days a week up there with them all.  We got unpacked, and were off to the beach for a late afternoon swim and cocktails at Bagno Giovanni, the beach club they join for the month.  Nicco went to the same beach club as a child, and they know most everyone there, so it is fun.  More later.  Ciao.

Day 2 with Dave R in the close in Mugello hills. by ridingwithcosimo at Garmin Connect - Details

Over the head, behind me photo of Dave on the start of the
climb through Vincigliata.  You would think I could get these
level with practice, but I kind of like them like this.
I do try to get it level, but with little success.

One of the many switchbacks on the Vincigliata climb.

Dave had dinner with his group at this castle, Castello Vincigliata
a couple of nights before this ride.  Cool!

Dave climbing toward Bivigliano.

By the end of the day, I was having an Aperol Spritz at Bagno
Giovanni in Forte dei Marmi with Emily, Kate, and family.
