Nice recovery ride on a perfect spring day.

A short-ish ride today, after yesterdays hard ride.  The weather today was just about perfect, so not riding was not an option.  I took an easy ride, and totally enjoyed the ride and the weather.  No booties, knee warmers - not even light tights, and only a base layer t-shirt under the long sleeved jersey.  That is as light as I have dressed since November, which is exciting.  I rode out through the Cascine, then over to Signa, Lastra a Signa, then up and over the little pass to Ginestra Fiorentina.  Up the valley a little ways, then a turn off to climb on a tiny back road to Montagnana.  It is a beautiful little road and has wonderful views after you reach the ridge.  Down to Cerbia, then up to Chiesa Nuova - all pretty standard.  I took the switchbacks down to Galuzzo, then up to Poggio Imperiale to get back home.  A privilege to be alive and riding on such a wonderful day.  36.6 miles in 2:30 rolling time for an average speed of 14.6 mph with 2011 vertical feet climbed at a sun effected average temperature of 70.  Sweet!

The climb is mostly done and the views are awesome
above Lastra a Signa.

On the ridge before the descent to Ginestra Fiorentina.

This picture does kind of capture the glowing nature of the green
prevalent in the countryside these days.  This is the ridge
climbing toward Montagnana.

Trying to capture the florescent green to the North.

Riding the back way through Galuzzo, this tree was exploding
with color and flowers.  I love springtime.
